Through delivery of QE Futures, we will ensure all Elizabethans successfully find their path to competitive degree-level university or apprenticeship courses, and then thrive at university and beyond.
QE Futures is the School’s ambitious programme of careers and universities guidance & support. It is delivered through the pastoral curriculum, assemblies, information evenings, School-based events, work experience placements, university taster and progression activities, and, importantly, through one-to-one guidance conversations.
The QE Futures programme:
- Provides pupils from Years 7–13 with a wide range of opportunities to engage with higher education institutions and employers – within and beyond QE;
- Encourages all pupils to broaden their horizons and consider a wider range of careers within and beyond the ‘traditional’ professions, including entrepreneurial careers and careers in emerging sectors of the economy;
- Equips pupils with a core set of employability skills that will enable them to both successfully transition from school to university, and from university to the world of work;
- Provides pupils with bespoke guidance on how best to navigate their future pathways;
- Supports pupils with the knowledge and advice to feel confident when applying for the most competitive and demanding courses or opportunities.
The Futures programme is coordinated by James Kane (Assistant Head, Pupil Destinations). Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) are a crucial and integral aspect of the programme, supported by our Enterprise Coordinator, Carlea Previdi, of the West London Careers Hub.
Mr Kane can be contacted at enquiries@qebarnet.co.uk or on 020 8441 4646.

Further details of career activities and information for parents and students are available on eQE (our intranet).
The impact of the careers programme is monitored through a broad range of evidence. This includes leavers’ destination data, information on which can be found on the School Performance page and via the Government’s Compare School Performance website.
Feedback is gained from pupils through pupil conferences and the bespoke tutorial system, as well as through eQE surveys following events. Parental feedback can be measured through surveys such as that conducted by RSAcademics to inform the current School Development Plan. Reports are also regularly received from the external providers that the School works with.
The involvement of alumni within the delivery of careers advice and guidance enables the input of those who have experienced the transition from the School to higher education and/or the world of work. Information shared through our QE Connect platform for alumni similarly demonstrates onward career progression.
