Parent Governor Shashankar Jana, BCom, was elected to the Governing Body in the Parent Governor elections held in May 2021.
Born in India, he relocated to the UK in 2000 and works as an IT professional. He has two sons, both studying at QE.
A Friends of Queen Elizabeth’s committee member since 2017, he has helped in many QE events, including the Founder’s Day Fete. Mr Jana currently serves as the Chair of Governors at St Stephen’s School and Children’s Centre in East Ham and is also a volunteer at an East London sports club that seeks to “make a difference to young people’s lives”. He was previously a director for Newham Partnership Working, an organisation formed by Newham Schools to run and commission education support services.
He enjoys sports and is a Badminton England-certified coach, helping as a volunteer coach to many children and young people. He spends his spare time playing either football, cricket, or badminton.
