Celebrate with us: parents and all friends of the School very welcome

Founder’s Day – our biggest annual fundraiser to provide state-of-the-art facilities and increased opportunities for the boys – is fast approaching.
It’s a great day of celebration for the entire Elizabethan community, with the afternoon Friends of Queen Elizabeth’s (FQE) Fete giving everyone the chance to relax and have fun after the formal events earlier in the day.
This year, Founder's Day is again raising funds for the total refurbishment of the Biology labs –– a project which will start this summer.
There will be exciting updates regarding our plans for new indoor sports facilities.
And with the scaffolding now down, it’s a great opportunity to admire the Main Building's splendid new roof!
All these projects rely upon the funding of FQE. The charity has a record of helping the School transform the campus that now goes back decades. Among the most recent facilities completed with FQE help are the Friends’ Recital Hall & Music Rooms, opened in 2022, and The Robert Dudley Studio, completed only last year.
Recent Founder's Days have raised record amounts, with more than £43k coming in last year.
Please do support FQE and invest in current pupils and future generations by joining us on the day and/or donating online.

How you can help
The FQE Committee has some suggestions for how parents can help make Founder’s Day 2026 a resounding success. There’s something for everyone!
Donate items
The half-term break is a great opportunity to have a sort-out of unwanted items...and we would love donations of:
Boxed games & puzzles – no missing pieces, please – for our toys & games stall;
Fiction & non-fiction for the book stall;
New, unopened items for the tombola – unwanted gifts, including toiletries, bottles, or anything chocolate-related.
Please contact us to arrange collection. Or donations can be brought into School in the week before the fete.
|
|
Provide vouchers
If you own a business or work for a company that would be interested in donating a voucher for the popular voucher stall, please contact our voucher team. The stall always attracts attention and is a good way of getting your company noticed. Vouchers must be more than £10 in value and be valid for at least three months from the date of the fete.
|
|
Volunteer
Volunteering at the fete on one of the many stalls is a fantastic way to play your part on Founder’s Day. Simply click on this link and then choose your stall and time slot. You can volunteer for more than one stall and/or time slot – so please come along and further build on the School’s amazing legacy.

Cook international food
The wonderful international food tent has expanded over the years to reflect the diversity in the School. If you’re interested in making a national dish, please get in touch with the international food team with your details and what you would like to make.
|
|
Give cakes and biscuits
Our refreshment tent offers a fabulous selection of cakes and biscuits, as well as teas and coffees. If you would like to donate cakes or biscuits (homemade or shop-bought), please contact the refreshments team with your details and what you would like to donate.

Support your son’s House
After 2025’s successful launch of a House catching competition, the PE department is already on the ball this year! Pupils in Years 7, 8 & 9 have spent the last two weeks battling it out in PE lessons to show which House is best at catching. The grand final is at lunchtime tomorrow (Friday 22nd May). To sponsor your son’s House, click the link below.
