Come and celebrate your School’s 450th anniversary in style
Expect this year’s OE Annual Reunion Dinner to be a little different. With shorter speeches and a slightly more relaxed feel, we are putting the focus squarely on socialising and networking. The dress code is lounge suits, with – whisper it quietly – ties optional! It promises to be a great opportunity to celebrate your School’s 450th anniversary together with old friends and new.
Of course, as you would expect from a School that is so proud of its heritage, not everything is changing: if you’ve been an OE dinner guest before, you’ll still find plenty that is familiar. Our promise is simply that, whether you’re 19 or 90, a regular or a first-timer at the dinner, you will be very welcome. If you want to sit with friends, you can request that when you buy your ticket.
What can you expect? Well, aside from good food (with wine) and great conversation, we will be providing mini-tours of the historic Main Building and the much newer Mayes building, incorporating The Queen’s Library, Dining Hall and Music department. Look out for a few anniversary touches, too, courtesy of our QE Collections archives team.
We’ll be in touch separately with alumni marking their own anniversaries: our five, ten and 20-year leavers. But if you have a special reason to celebrate – perhaps as ex-QE musicians, actors or sports teammates – do feel free to get your own group together: we will do our best to make it a memorable evening for everyone involved.
Most of all, we want the dinner to be about making connections. It’s a chance to meet up face-to-face with schoolmates you’re in touch with online, an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and staff after years apart. And we positively encourage mixing business with pleasure – so come along and connect, whether you’re looking for a business partner, exploring a change of job, or needing the inside track on a particular firm or sector.
2023 has been a very special year for your School: come to the dinner and let’s celebrate together in style!
